03.20 Doubt Discovery
===
[00:00:00] Hello, my wonderful sisters and mystical creative CEOs out there. Welcome to the sorority. I'm your host, Jessica Mystic, and today you will hear some panting in the background with my new little sidekick there. So after the passing of my dear Floki, he sent me a lovely little spirit bro come to our home.
So we picked him up yesterday. And now, here we are recording, and this little 16 week old puppy wants to hang out in my lap. So that's what's going on. And that's what led me to this episode. You know, I really want to tap into times of doubt, and that doubt that does lead to our despair, and how to deal with the re evaluating and re defining who we are when we are rewriting our story.
And we are seeking What serves us and who we want to be and where we want to be. There's so many questions that come up and [00:01:00] especially right now in spring, we're going into that energy of growth and wanting to move forward and wanting to become our better versions of ourselves to heal, to expand.
Sorry. So distracted So that's what this whole episode is about. We're going to do a little bit of a deep dive on what it really means to lean into trust, like having faith in the, in yourself, having faith in the divine, having faith in your mission, having faith is trust and the how doubt and fear feed faith and trust.
So let's talk about that. Let's anchor into it and let's, let's get out and grow. Let's do it.
Let's talk about it. So what is doubt? What is doubt? What is doubt? What is fear? What does it mean to question our journey, to question our path, to question our mission, to question ourselves?
It's all part of the process, right? When you look at any ascended master in [00:02:00] time, most times when you meet someone who is wise, they answer with a question. Right, they don't always, anyone who's been like a great prophet, or a great spiritual leader, or thought, Like, any thought leader out there, It's not so much people trying to, Tell you what everything needs to be, you know, it's the, it's not the, this is the way it is, it's the be all, it's the end all, the ones that truly activate, inspire, motivate, and empower us to be our own version of ourselves, to be a better version of ourselves, to actually make change, make moves, and to embody Thank you.
Our mission are the ones that ask questions and the reason questions are so important is questions lead to discovery. This is why even in like sales calls the discovery phase is so important because those questions and that discovery is what anchors ourselves and those that we're selling to or anyone you're having a conversation with.
Asking those questions provoke thought, [00:03:00] provoking thought provokes conversation, provoking that thought and conversation creates a pattern for connection which identifies problems and and potential solutions, and it creates opportunities for awareness. Without questions, we remain Naive. Without questions, we remain stuck.
We have the blinders on. If no one's provoking thought or question through conversation, we just, we just get lost in that hyperfixation mode, right? No one's there to snap you out of it. So sometimes questions are hard questions. Sometimes a simple question can all of a sudden become a hard question, like, who am I?
Who am I? Oh, I'm Jessica. Okay. Oh, I'm Jessica Mystic. Oh, what's Jessica Mystic? Why'd you choose that name? Why are we here? Why are you doing this? Well, who's, who's, who are you as a, who are you? On what level? In what frequency? In my work? In my home? In my marriage? In my [00:04:00] family? Who am I as a mother? Who am I as a person?
Who am I as a daughter? Like, see how a simple question can unfold into so many different, like, variations, different, different depths? There's depths to questions, which means there's a lot of depths to doubt. When we uncover new questions and revisit questions, this is why journaling is so important. And now, if you're not, I mean, I love notebooks, But actually using the notebooks, not just buying pretty notebooks.
This is why it's important to sit down at least, if not daily, do it weekly. You want to at least reflect on where you're at, who are you right now? How do you see yourself? How do you see yourself right now? How do you want to see yourself? How do you think others see you? And just revisiting those three questions, weekly or monthly, whether it be in life, in business, in family, it doesn't matter.
When you're sitting there asking yourself a simple question, it's a question of evolution, that's where you find the growth, that's where you [00:05:00] anchor into where are you, what are your struggles, what are your challenges, what is it you're currently trying to overcome? And then making a point I mean, people typically do it yearly when they do resolutions and stuff in the beginning of the year, but in the spring, I even like to revisit what were your resolutions?
I'm sure you wrote them down. I can almost fucking guarantee if it's not in a notes app or on a piece of paper or the back of an envelope in your kitchen or in your notebook, what were your resolutions? What were your thoughts come the new year? What were your goals? What were your plans? Let's revisit those.
Where are you now compared to where you were three months ago? And it's okay if you didn't make any headway, right? But let's revisit that. You know, I keep talking about Spring Cleanup. This is why we're anchoring into, into abundance, into our power, into opportunity. And what didn't happen, why not? Was it unrealistic for the time frame you gave yourself?
Just hasn't happened yet? Is it because [00:06:00] you're, you don't have foundations in place in order for that to happen yet? Is it because you bit off more than you could chew? Is it because you don't have help? Is it because you don't have the resources? What is it that didn't happen that led to you not achieving that?
Why didn't that happen?
We then see this pattern. When we revisit and refine and reflect, we see a pattern. Or we're so gung ho. We're like, this is it. When you feel like, you know when you're just You're feeling it. You're feeling the vibe. You're like, fuck yeah, let's do this. Like, I'm going to fucking make this happen. I'm going to start my business or I'm going to launch phase two, or I'm going to start this program or I'm going to launch this service.
I'm going to take this service. And then doubt creeps in. Can I afford this right now? Can I actually sell it? Does anyone really want this? What am I doing? This business feels like a hobby. I just keep spending money and not seeing it come in. I keep adding things to my plate, but I'm not seeing the reward.
So what's happening? What's the doubt? You [00:07:00] know, well I keep spending money when I should be saving money. Can I do this? Am I good enough? Are people gonna take me seriously? What if people think I'm just being impulsive? I'm just gonna let everybody down. I don't know, what is it, what are the voices in your head saying?
What is the doubt? Cause when you're feeling it, like when you're activated, and you've got that like, that fire gets lit, and you feel that heat, and you get really excited, and those butterflies just, they just burn up, they turn into flame, and you're like, yeah, let's go! And you just feel that, that, that, that, Propulsion to move forward and you take action and that's where we feel impulsive and we feel reckless almost, but we're excited and we're lit up and then once we take that action, whether we hire the coach or we buy the program or whatever it is that we're doing, you invest in the product.
You, you lease a space, you take some kind of risk that you're excited, you're exhilarated, you take that jump, you take the leap, and then as you're free falling, you start to panic. What if I crash? What if I [00:08:00] burn out? What if I, what if I just blew up my life and I'm going to regret this? What if it doesn't work?
What if I fail? That doubt, those questions, that's where you need to have faith, faith in yourself, faith in source, faith in your divine calling, your divine purpose, faith in your gifts, faith in the way that you operate, you know how to work, faith in your way of being, faith in all that you've built so far, faith in who you are and who you are becoming, trusting that instinct, that you are.
That feeling to follow through. You can't argue with logic that great deep emotional pull from your soul and often our obsession with our success and our business and our passions, especially as multi passionate creatives, when we jump from one thing to another and we're Especially when we're not focused, that's where we start to feel the doubt because we feel this mess and this chaos.
But when you feel joy and you are in alignment with [00:09:00] what you are focusing on, and you're, if you keep your focus and move forward with that feeling, with that gut feeling that you were lit up by, you will inevitably see that success. It's not about the strategy as much as it is the embodiment paired with it.
So when you are fully anchored into the passion behind your work, and what's, what's lighting you up, when you feel, fill yourself with that direction instead of what you think or should or could, or you start doubting and you start taking advice from people that doesn't feel good, but you feel like you should listen because, you know, they're successful and they're, Logical and, you know, they've got their, you know, their typical business and you, you're trying to fit in that box, fuck the box, fuck the box, burn the box, move forward.
If anything, you want accountability for your productivity so you can remain focused, you can remain on task. If you remain on task, you fuel that fire. When you [00:10:00] fuel that fire, you blow up in the best way. And that's what leads into, like, blowing up your life for the better, instead of burning everything down like a house fire.
A recent mastermind I was in. One of my coaches said, you know, a lot of us when we're, when we're hyperactive, overachievers, and we're just kind of striving, like we feed on that achievement, we need the acknowledgement that we're doing good and all the things, and when we're stuck in survival mode, like I've been most my life, we're multitasking in the sense of, I need to, I have to accomplish, I have to achieve, that's how I get validation, that's how I prove it's working, that's how I prove this, I've done this much money in the account, and people need to see that it's working, they need to see that I'm, I'm successful.
And we feed that masculine side and by fueling that our house is on fire but so are we and we're not on fire in like a soul fire lit up happy kind of way we're just fucking burning to the ground this is like a bad dumpster fire and if we're a fucking bad dumpster fire we can't put the house fire out right like we need [00:11:00] to find the calm we have to find the flow we have to anchor into our emotion and our serenity and our stillness in order to find the balance.
regain our focus and then fuel that fire. Fire can be great when you're lighting a candle. Fire's great when it's giving you warmth from a fireplace or, you know, maybe you want to roast marshmallows and make memories. Fire can be good. Focused fire is great, but when it's just all fucking hellfire, not so, not so dandy.
So finding focus is what's fueling our fire and this doubt and indecision is what's causing the flames to burn in a non favorable way. Okay, we want to keep our focus. We have to invite the doubt. And instead of it leading to despair, we invite doubt out of curiosity. Doubt helps us delve deeper into our devotion and make decisions.
When we have this doubt, we choose to move past it. We choose to move through it. We choose to work on. We doubt ourselves and our ability. [00:12:00] We practice. We work on our skills. We hire coaches. We work on people to help us stay accountable, stay on task, stay productive. We take the trainings. We If necessary, we, we learn how to master the craft or whatever it is that we're trying to delve into.
Are we struggling with content? We work on content. Doubt invites opportunity to find discipline, to walk through it. This is how we become leaders. This is how we, we choose to move forward, to lead with love, to love ourselves enough to allow doubt to help us grow. Rather than destroy us. Doubt can be a bitch.
Doubt can be rude. Doubt is the voice in our head that wants to just rip us apart. Doubt is ego. Doubt is shame. Okay, we don't need to condemn ourselves in shame for being doubt. And it's, we are also human. Doubt is part of the human condition. And when you are seeking so wholeheartedly to have faith, proof.
Like a lot of us as intellectuals, when we're multi passionate creatives, we're also really fucking [00:13:00] smart. In fact, most of us are on the spectrum and don't even know it. Our brains, there's nothing wrong with us. Our brains are capable of computing and over analyzing on such a high level. That's why we get so overstimulated so easily.
We are taking in so much information and we are decoding and deciphering and worst case scenarioing all of the things In order to find evidence to support and, and, and beat doubt. So when you're seeking evidence and validation to negate doubt, you're forgetting to anchor into the feeling. That feeling should be guiding you.
That feeling that lights you up. The feeling from your soul. The feeling from being truly connected and embodying your work. The feeling of anchoring into your gifts. The feeling when you're creating and you feel that release and you feel that expression and you see the result and transformation, not only in you, but the world.
The transformation your work does for others, that feeling, that feeling, that dopamine hit that gives you that high, that rush, [00:14:00] that feeling cannot be defined like that is evidence, but we're so stuck at looking for the tangible evidence that we get hung up on it and we start to second guess and let the doubt overcome.
Choose to start seeing and feeling as a form of evidence and knowing that it's not always instant. Some stuff takes work. Sometimes you feel it, and you move, and you make these decisions, and you go, and it takes time to get the results you're looking for back, but that feeling you had when you started, the excitement within you, that was your evidence.
Anchor into that. Call more of that in. That feeling, that feeling, that love that you're leading with, that love that you feel in your soul and your heart that you wish to share and grow with others, when you pour into that, that is the frequency of abundance, of success, of prosperity, of money. It is all frequencies of love.
And when you anchor [00:15:00] into the excitement, the joy, and the love, and living in your fullest potential, that is your evidence to negate your doubt. So in times of doubt, I want you to close your eyes and belly breathe and anchor into that feeling and the results will come. Choosing to find space, choosing to make time, choosing to reflect and not hustle and push it.
Will open more space and opportunity for you to fill the void and fill the fear of not getting those results with the results that you're asking for. If you're too busy, you can't receive the results you're looking for. And that's the lesson I've had to learn. I'm in time again. And it's not an easy one, because we keep ourselves busy in order to achieve.
And that served us. I mean, that's how I got my first online course built while scaling, while renovating a location, opening a school all by [00:16:00] myself with zero staff, and launching an online course, and launching a coaching business. That survival mode and that overachieving standard served me. I did the damn thing.
It wasn't super healthy. I hired the staff. I've made the systems and like it's, it's been a bit of a hot mess express, but we roll with it. We got it out. And now we refine, we reflect, refine, reframe, and that's how we're going to grow. And now shifting that focus. Sometimes we burn stuff down for the better, right?
Like, in my coaching business right now, I'm exclusively focusing on one on ones. I'm not running any more current containers. Even the membership, the Mystic Sisterhood membership, I've closed the doors. We're doing a beta round because it's a new community. So I've closed the doors. There's no, you know, new sistars joining that membership at this time, but that allowed space for summer so that I can take trips with my children.
So I can be present with Bear, this new puppy, who's now adorably sleeping on my [00:17:00] rug. If you're watching on YouTube, you might be able to see him depending if this I'll even pan the camera down just in case we kind of But I want to be, I want to feed into my family, into the memories, into the time. I've worked very fucking hard, and I will always work hard.
The point of working hard and building a solid foundation, and choosing to be a strong, independent leader who's financially free and has time flexibility, means that we also have to choose to use the time and be flexible in our schedule to enjoy the lives that we've chosen to create. Everyone talks about building the dream life, life of your dreams.
We've all seen it. In fact, it's almost, it almost makes me cringe to type it in my content because I've seen it so much on social media. But what does it mean to build the life of your dreams? What does it mean for you to be rich? You don't have to have a million dollar dream. You don't have to have a 2 million business.
If you want to make five to 8k a month solo, that's fucking great. If that's all you [00:18:00] need, your dream is yours. It doesn't mean that you have to have this extravagant, crazy, you know, multi six figure income if you don't desire that. Do what, if that feels daunting to you, that's not your dream. If you're excited to hit 5k months and just have a secondary side hustle and maybe you love your other career, maybe you don't want to leave your other career, you know, a lot of marketing, leave your career, stop working for the system.
I know women, they're nurses and they love being nurses. They love, Being someone who actually gives a shit in such a broken system that they do care about their patients and they don't want to leave them, but they also want a side hustle that feeds their artistic side and they know that they can't do nursing forever.
It's hard on their body, that shift work is bullshit. They love what they do, but they want something for when they're finished. You get to decide what that means for you. You get to decide if you want a side hustle. You get to decide if you want to go all in. You get to decide if you just want to have time off.
Maybe you're a teacher, and when you're on [00:19:00] sabbatical, you just want something to do on the side so you have extra cash coming in, and you can just fucking give her. You can travel, you can see the world. Maybe you like buying high end clothes, I don't know. Maybe you wanna donate, maybe you wanna, like, one of the things I wanna do is, Why do I want a lot of money?
Why do we want a lot of money? When we start to doubt ourselves, I feel selfish. Why can't I be happy with what I have? You know, I grew up as a military brat, and a lot of the time, you I was told about, you know, the shittier parts of the world that my dad had to go overseas and work with. And you know, you should be happy that you don't have to build bridges and contraptions to get apples off a tree in a field that's filled with mines.
Like if you fall off or fall from the tree, you could blow your legs off. That's what I grew up with. That's the lessons I was taught. You should be happy with what you have. There's kids that have nothing. There's kids that have no food. There's kids that have no clothes. There's kids that are living in a war zone.
They can't walk down the street without being afraid that something's going to get blown up or something's going to be taken from them and get shot at. So there's times [00:20:00] I feel guilt and I feel shame and I feel doubt. Well, why do I want to make this much? Why do I want to lead a team? Why do I want to grow these businesses?
Why can't I just be happy with what I have? Why can't I just be happy being a housewife with my kids at home? Because my passion is my purpose. I want to anchor people back into their humanity so they can live their life. They can grow and build a business around their life and their values so we can anchor into our humanity and bringing our humanity back into our brands.
So it's not just about money and bank accounts. I want success to be a measure of of soul connection and leading with soul and with purpose and actually making a positive impact on the world, to empower people to own their life, to be themselves, to anchor into their human experience and live the best version of their life for themselves and their [00:21:00] family.
Otherwise, what's the point, right? Like, when we lead with this purpose, The doubt doesn't matter. The doubt just helps us delve deeper, deeper into our why. I use this as a tool, even when you revisit your brand and your mission statements, when you revisit your, your work, and even when you're refining products, suites, and services, you know, offers you're building, the doubt that comes up, well, is the doubt just, Like, you know, is someone going to like this?
Well, who is it for? Then you're revisiting your client. Like, use doubt as a tool to discover a deeper level of connection with you, who you're serving, what you're doing. That's where the growth and transformation happens. Delving and accepting that doubt. Welcoming doubt as a tool of discovery is going to help you find the curiosity that you need.
To continue seeking joy, [00:22:00] to continue creating, to continue getting inspired, to continue, to continue your life in a whole new way. Without doubt, there's no discovery. Without discovery, there's no curiosity. Without curiosity, there's no creativity. It all feeds our faith and our ability to lean into trust and truly anchor into who we are and who we're meant to be and create from a space of true purpose, passion and honest, just being honest.
You can't, we're going to waver and we're going to fall down, you know, like it's going to But in order to get back up and lead yourself through it, Welcoming doubt and discovery gives you the tools and the reminders and the discipline to continue taking those steps forward, even when things feel really hard.
It's like my instructor Paul said in, [00:23:00] in college, you know, if you don't believe in yourself, then why should anybody else? And that's something that I remind myself of every single day, no matter what, despite the doubt. Despite, you know, life is going to throw you some fucking curveballs and make you rethink everything you've done.
You'll go and invest a large sum of money, whether it's in a coach, whether it's in a program, whether it's in inventory or licensing or starting up your business, and then, you know, your vehicle's gonna go. Or, you know, I made the choice to launch To lease a space, and then my dog's knee blew, and I had to pay 5G's for fuckin surgery to get it patched.
And then I had to take a month off work to help him recuperate. And I had to still renovate a space and build a school from scratch by myself. Now I have five staff, I led myself through it, I kept showing up. And doubt helps you make decisions. Are you going to decide [00:24:00] this is worth walking through or are you going to decide to reframe and try a new direction?
Doubt helps you strengthen your core beliefs and lead with true authority and devotion in who we are and what our mission is.
And on that note, I'm going to leave it there. So I want you to decide to invite doubt, to question with curiosity, to dig deeper into all the questions that come up. I really do honestly encourage you to take Whether it's just a notepad, or like some post it notes in your purse, whatever. When you start having doubts, write down what you're thinking.
So that you can reflect on that later when you're journaling. I like to get up in the morning, and I like to journal. And, or, like, you know, I just, [00:25:00] what are my doubts? How am I walking through this? What is an action I can take in order to seek this answer? Or, to discover more, and uncover evidence to negate this.
What is a direction I can take? Because of this doubt. Like, this awareness, this mindfulness is gonna fuckin change everything. Because we're so used to just operating, accepting, and just pushing through, pushing through. Stop pushing through and decide to make decisions and take actions in order to lead yourself.
through doubt. Not just push on, soldier on, push through, push through, push through. Pushing through is only, eventually you're just going to break. When you become an active participant in your life and your business, that's when shit really starts to take off. And that's the only way you're going to make it work for you is actually getting clarity on what it is that you need to work for you.
Much love, many blessings. Until next week.
