5.01 Jeska Summer Break
===
[00:00:00] All right, we are here. We are here. Hello. Hello, Sistars. Have you ever noticed how it's so hard to practice what we preach? Like, if this, we're going to get into like welcoming new perspectives and being willing to pivot, asking ourselves, When things get busy, because we're always busy, or we're feeling like things are being demanded of us, triggering that classic, PDA, that pathological direction avoidance, or whatever the hell it's called, demand avoidance, I don't know, whatever, but we resist it.
We resist it. We're terrified. Monotony is death as a multi passionate. So how do we keep dopamine flowing? How do we continue moving forward? How do we be responsible for our own success without self sabotaging ourselves and blowing everything up because we feel stuck? We give ourselves permission to play.
And this is exactly why I've dedicated myself. To take a new direction [00:01:00] for you and for me to level up our lives without having to take any time away from our summer. Let's dive in.
Hello, my dear, dear sisters. It's your host here, Jeska Mystic at The Sorority. And in this episode, I'm going to be talking a little bit about what's coming and the reason I'm even doing this episode. So let's start with a quick little story. Quick little story.
About a month or so ago, I came across this nice bright green, kind of reminds me of pistachio jello pudding. You know, you know, if you don't, you should probably try it. Chrysophase. And I came across chrysophase during my season of grief after losing my dog, Floki. And I thought, well, this gemstone is known for healing properties with grief and emotional, emotional health and healing to help with like sadness and overwhelming thoughts and all of that, all of those psychological issues.
But I forgot to take note of the fact that [00:02:00] Chrysophaes is a stone that helps us understand and see where we are operating out of selflessness, selfishness rather than selflessness. And it kind of, it's kind of like a truth stone. Like it kind of like says, hey. You're not actually acting out of integrity for what's your best interest and the interest of others at heart.
Like, we need to take care of yourself, your spirit, your soul, and you need to reconnect and you need to get grounded. And it really hit me the other day when a crazy face kept popping into my head and it was sitting in my windowsill. I'm like, why did I need you so bad? And I was going through my books.
I'm like, oh yeah, and all these things are coming up. I'll do a crisis phase activation. I'll have to do one for you. But, anyway, this stone made me start to reflect and see, all those things I've been saying, like, God, I just want to have a summer, I just want to do things this way. And I felt things piling up because I'm excited, I'm multi passionate, doing all the things, all the things I want, busy in the best way.[00:03:00]
But I was starting to lose the sense of play and getting that sense of, oh, I need to, I have to, I got to make up for this time I've had off, the space that I give myself and how can I give myself more space and how can I nurture what I want to grow without going all out and I want to have a time with my family.
So it brings me to this episode where I'm announcing to you that I'm actually going to be taking a bit of a break, only a few weeks, don't panic, because I am preparing this crazy kick ass thing for all of you. It's only going to take like 10 minutes every day so that you can rewire your brain during the summer.
Like we're going to have a hashtag rich girl summer and an even more abundant fall. A bountiful as fuck harvest if you will. Without missing out on making memories with the kids out of school. Without making time to enjoy summer for you too. Because we don't eat the fruit. the same day we plant it, right?
So let's tend to those seeds and grow our own [00:04:00] money on some trees. These are not long episodes. These are short, 10 minute or less. You can redirect your mindset, um, and your money so that you can tap into this rich girl summer vibe with me. So you can set yourself up for the abundant fall because so many people think Like, let's just be real.
So many people think that the holiday season, in like the end of the year, is like when people stop spending money. But that's so wrong. Legit, newsflash, wrong. It is completely wrong. The biggest time of year is that fall, like September to January. This is the biggest time of year where people are in the mood to shop, in the mood to spend, in the mood to spoil their loved ones and themselves, seeking out, you know, deals and that quick little dopamine hit when we find the right score, the right sale or the right, you know, all these things.
It's just, it's a, it's a ride. It's a ride and it's a vibe. And that's how we kind of crash off of it afterwards. Side note, dopamine high, dopamine low. It's just a natural flow of things. [00:05:00] So like, you know what I'm talking about, right? Like I love. Finding me some good bundles, some good offers, some gift with purchase, all that.
That's why we're going to be able to pour into all that. But to do that, we've got to ask ourselves, like, how can we set ourselves up in the summer without taking away from our summer? This is why I'm creating something new and exciting for you for free. It's completely free because it's going to be on, it's a podcast.
Reformatting this shit to bring it to you, so you can set yourself up, this summer, less than 10 minutes a day, or even just a few times a week, 10 minutes, just by listening, while you're already doing all the things you would normally be doing, like, you could be doing the dishes, you could be doing the laundry, you could be walking the dog, whatever, you could just be in the morning, making your coffee, 10 minutes, or less, Okay, what if you could have the mindset and gain the ability to open yourself up to all the opportunity that awaits you and in the most abundant time of the year for [00:06:00] businesses?
10 minutes or less. You don't need to hustle your summer away in order to have cash flow the fuck in by fall. Like, let's seriously, let's make it your biggest year yet. This isn't bullshit. I am not bullshitting you. I'm doing this for me. The same reason I'm doing it for you. You don't need to revamp yourself.
We don't need to revamp our business in 30 days or less or do the 10k in 10 day challenge and feel like shit because we didn't hit that number in a certain way or whatever. This is a mindset reset. This is anchoring into the energy of abundance and receiving and becoming a leader, a loving leader, prepping yourself to level the fuck up.
Let's blow the fuck up in the best way. Seriously, Sistar, instead of burning the fuck down and feeling guilty for missing out on making memories, the only way I can truly lead out of love and authenticity for you is to practice the very things I preach, which is [00:07:00] why I am doing this. I'm doing this for me.
I'm doing it for you. I'm doing it for us. I'm doing it for every single multi passionate mother out there that wants to fucking slay her summer, bring in those sales, feel respectable, and finally feel like she's getting ahead in the results that she's looking for in her life and in her business. Ever notice how like it's so hard to practice what we preach?
Right? I said that in the beginning. It's so hard to practice what you preach. What if we actually welcome a new perspective and be willing to pivot just the way I am with this podcast? Asking ourselves, like, when I'm really busy and everything's really demanding, how can I still serve you, be here, in this podcast, still remain consistent and show up, bringing the energy, bringing the goods, helping you and helping myself without losing momentum, without burning it all down and walking away and giving up on it.
That's not what it's about. When things feel like, There's too much going on. We're too excited. We've [00:08:00] overcommitted. There's a lot going on. There's a lot of travel I want to do this summer. There's a lot of travel I want to do this summer. I want to pour into my one on one students I have at the school this summer.
You know, that's why I don't host group classes in the summer at Mr. Gatlink and PMU Tattoo School, my other business. I don't host group classes in the summer. I only take a select few of one on one mentorship and skill development students so I can just go in have the one on one with them. They have unlimited support with me.
This is why I have limited coaching containers. I don't do a bunch of masterminds and microminds and mini minds over the summer. I keep things one on one. Intimate, I keep them simple so that I can show up deeply and connect deeply with those I'm working with without over committing and over giving and losing that energy.
So how could I bring this to my podcast? I'm going deep in these connections with my one on one clients in my business coaching, with my one on one clients in the school. I have, I have some fun challenges coming up. I have some fun things that are dropping. Stay tuned. I can't tell you yet. So by scaling [00:09:00] back without.
Giving up. That's where the secret sauce is. So when you're feeling kind of frazzled, I encourage you to ask yourself the same question that I asked myself. When I'm feeling frazzled, and when you get yourself saying, Oh, I just want to have a summer. I just want to have a summer. And I feel like I'm a little stressed or I'm going to have to operate a little bit more at that higher level.
We don't need to be operating at 110 percent in order to be successful. I want to have time to enjoy the outdoors with my kids, to not be glued to my phone, to still show up wholeheartedly and be excited to show up in my social media, to be excited to launch these new things coming without just living to launch and overcommit and to make content.
I want to live my life outside of my business. Does it sound familiar? Right? We are more than just our businesses. We are more than just our work. We are also people. We are also different types of people to different people in our world. And we get to be all of these things. We get to wear [00:10:00] all the hats in a way that works for us.
So I ask yourself these questions if you're feeling frazzled and you're feeling frantic and you don't know what to let go, you don't know what to do, simply ask, like, how can I operate outside of the need to overperform? How can I burn things down without giving up everything? And how can I make this sustainable now so I can continue to grow and nurture this idea so I can blow it up in the best possible way later?
Again, planting the seed. So we can eat the fruit later. We have to tend to it. We have to plant the seed in order for it to grow, we have to consistently tend to it. Doesn't mean you gotta water it every day, you'll drown that bitch, right? So how can we keep momentum without losing our minds and making ourselves completely miserable?
These are really important questions, I do encourage you, if you want to listen to this, write these down, revisit these, this could be what you journal on in the morning, [00:11:00] answer one of these questions each morning this week if you want to, but where do I feel most lit up in what I'm doing? What am I most excited for?
I don't know. Not what do I think I want, but what do I feel most lit up about what I'm doing right now? And then, here's the realization in all these questions you're answering. Scaling back, I want you to understand this, scaling back, simplifying, or taking a step back, does not, mean you're giving up. It does not mean that you couldn't hack it.
There's no shame in this. Scaling back means accepting that it's okay to operate at a level of ease and flow. Doesn't mean you just sit back like an over entitled bitch saying, Oh, what is meant for me will happen. Of course it will. What's meant for you is not going to pass you by, but we have to do our due diligence.
But we don't have to over deliver in order to receive. So doing less doesn't [00:12:00] mean giving a minimal amount of effort, right? Think about that for a minute. Doing less doesn't mean we give a minimal amount of effort. Just because you're doing less doesn't mean that you aren't Pouring your soul into your work and leading with love.
You don't need to do all the things. In fact, you're going to make more money and be more successful by doing, simplifying and doing less with more intention than when you're trying to do all the shit at once, right? Again, we don't need to give 110 percent in order and like live in that non stop hustle culture bullshit in order to succeed and be seen as doing enough in order to earn money.
What is meant for us. That's not, that's not how it works. You're actually cutting yourself off, so you're just letting shit pass by, because you're too busy to see what's going on around you. Your hands are too full in order to receive. We don't have to show up the same way every single day in the same capacity.[00:13:00]
If you vow to show up every single day, show up as you are. I say it all the time. If you're having a low day, have a low day. If you're having a high energy day, have a high energy day, but you don't need to operate in the same way. You don't need to perform at a certain level every single day in order to be successful.
We have to find our flexibility and our flow. Just like going to the gym. What's held me back so long from going to the gym or signing up for CrossFit was the idea of, well, my schedule isn't consistent. Like, what time am I going to go on what days of the week? When I let that go, And the need for, well I can't go to the gym without my kids.
It was like morning walks, can't go morning walks with my sons up. Well on Thursdays if I want to work out, if I haven't hit the gym, my goal is to go to CrossFit three times a week. When I go, or what time I go, or if I go with my kids, or with my husband, or on my own, doesn't matter. I just show up. I vow to [00:14:00] show up.
Ideally, I like going on Mondays with my husband. I think it's a great way to start the week off. Make it happen Monday. We both make it happen with each other. Whether or not my mom's available to watch the children, either they come with us. Or my mom comes over and watches them when we go together. And if that doesn't happen, maybe my husband just goes.
Maybe I stay home with the kids, maybe they're not in the mood to go. And then I just go on Tuesday. We get to choose and change and pivot in whatever way serves us best. It doesn't, you can set your goals, you can set your intentions. You can map it out, like having a map, like old school, I remember like when I used to have the map books when my dad was driving across Canada, and like looking at the map books, you know point A to point B, you know where you're going, but sometimes there's detours, and the way that you get there doesn't really matter, we don't always need to be in a rush, we don't always need to save time, maybe you want to stop and see the sights, maybe you take a different direction, maybe you got lost, shit happens, shit [00:15:00] happens.
But you get back on track and you get to that destination. Having flexibility and flow means you're not missing out on everything else that's happening along the way. It doesn't have to be that one way, because it's the way that you're used to it being, or the way that you want it to be, that's that perfectionism story, that perfectionism bullshit, and you keep telling yourself, Well, if I can't do it this way, then I can't do it right, there's no point in doing it at all.
That's a fucking lie, and it's the one lie that is keeping us stuck, all the time. Like, I'm calling you out with love the same way I call myself out. It's bullshit. We are the ones with these high expectations, these high standards, and we talk ourselves into doing things before we even get started because we can't do it the right way or a certain way that we think it needs to be.
Okay, let's just call it like it is. Let's take a step back from autism, and I can say that because I'm on Spectrum, but let's think about it. What if, what if we allow ourselves [00:16:00] To step back so we can see the bigger picture. You know, same reason we hire our coaches and our mentors and we join masterminds.
So we can see the bigger picture, so we can gain perspective. What if you make time to reflect? What if you don't rush into waking up and starting your day? What if you start your day by forcing yourself to do nothing for the first 10 to 30 minutes? You'll want to reach for your phone. You're going to want to go on social media.
You're going to want to get a post out. You're going to want to, you're going to want to, you're going to want to, you're going to want to, but to force yourself to lay still and take 10 minutes to you, to pray, to journal, to just sit in silence. That takes some dedication. Finding freedom and flow, being okay with having a routine.
But what if your routine wasn't so much I have to do this at this time every single day the same way. What if it is, this time is dedicated for personal growth, this time is dedicated for profitable money making activities, this time is dedicated for other projects and productivities. Like, look at the way you're [00:17:00] planning and leading yourself.
Do you have room in your schedule to let yourself live? And if not, where can you make those changes? That's why I'm doing this for you. That's why I'm creating the Rich Girl Summer because that's, I'm, you know, I'm just going to call it that. That's going to be the Rich Girl Summer Series because it's going to be less than 10 minutes.
Once a week, we're going to have a drop, less than 10 minutes. And that activation or activity is something you can listen to every single day that week and anchor into. Start your week with it, carry it through the week. If not daily, you can do it once, twice, three times. You can go back, re listen, re anchor into it.
If you need to live in that lesson a little longer. You can do that too, but don't forget to follow this podcast so that you can be notified as soon as we get started and not miss every new week's energy and activation that can help shift you into that main character energy role into living your story the way that you're meant to owning your magic so you can slay those sales so you can [00:18:00] scale your business beyond what you ever believed was possible.
I cannot wait. For all that is coming, and I truly want to take the moment to thank you for being here, to thank you for listening, to thank you for participating, to thank you for taking a moment to step outside everything that you think you know, and anchor into learning what is best for you, what does work for you, to question, to question, to discover, to play, to explore.
That's what it's all about. And that's what I'm going to be bringing you this summer. So if you've got a drink, you can raise it. I've got my water right here. My making my own magic cup. And I raised my glass to you because here is to rich girl summer and not missing out on any damn memories. Much love to you, sister.
